"You have given me the motivation and courage to try to rebloom my orchids rather than handing them off once the blooms fall. I've successfully rebloomed one and am in the process of reblooming 2 more! Your tips on where to cut back and how to water have helped me keep my other orchids alive and thriving MUCH longer than in the past. I was silly to believe that an ice cube a week was sufficient in the past. Now my plants stay fresher looking and hold their blooms for months at a time."

"I've always believed that orchids were very delicate and needed very little water. After receiving a gift of an orchid, its last flowers fell off. Following your advice, the orchid is back with new flowers, bigger than before, and I want to buy more orchids because of you!"

What’s Inside Become an Orchid Master
Module 1
Moth Orchid Flowering Habits
You may have been gifted an orchid or purchased one for yourself, and now the flowers are all done. Your orchid is not dying! In this module, you will learn how to encourage your plant to rebloom quickly for you off of the old flower stalk (and also learn when it is not a good idea to do so). You'll also learn when you can expect brand new flower stalks (and if you've trimmed off the old flower stalk, it's OK! It will grow new ones.)
Module Highlights:
- Managing flower spikes and encouraging rebloom
- Phalaenopsis blooming "season"
- How to tell the difference between a new root and a brand new flower spike
Module 2
Light
The single most important part of getting your orchid to bloom reliably every year is light. Sure, you can get your plant to rebloom off the old stalk (Module 1), but for repeated success and vigorous, blooming plants over many years, you must have the right light.
Light requirements indoors are very misunderstood, and this module makes it easy for you to understand how to provide the appropriate light for your orchid, regardless of where you live in the world.
Without the appropriate light for your orchid, your plant will limp along, you will become frustrated, and the rest of this course will not help you much. The modules all build off of each other, and if you start your plant off on the right foot with the correct light, both you and your orchids will be encouraged with the results.
Not locating your orchid in the right light in your home is the single biggest reason why plants will fail to bloom.
Module Highlights:
- Situating your orchids in the best light in your home so that your plants will be healthy and bloom reliably
- The real cause of sun scald (it may not be what you think)
- Light acclimation and why it is important when moving your orchid to a new growing spot
Module 3
Watering
After getting your light conditions right, proper watering is the next crucial aspect of orchid care. Moth orchids are slow growing, so consistency in watering is extremely important. If your plant is water stressed, it will take quite a while for it to come back, and your plant will struggle to grow and flower.
Proper watering will encourage a healthy root system. Healthy roots means you will have a healthy plant. It is important to understand orchid roots and determine when you need to water. This module makes it easy for you to implement watering methods that will result in healthy, blooming plants.
Module Highlights:
- What to avoid while watering
- Watering methods and how often to water
- Water quality
Module 4
Fertilizing
After you've nailed down light and watering conditions for your orchids, if you truly want them to grow and bloom more vigorously, a good fertilization practice is important.
Fertilization should not be used as a fix to make up for poor light and watering. It should be used to build upon good growing conditions in order to take your plant to the next level (not to mention, to avoid nutrient deficiencies).
Your orchid can get by for a while without fertilizer, but consistent fertilization will make the difference between a mediocre plant and one that is exceptional.
Module Highlights:
- Why orchids need fertilizer
- Fertilizer best practices and how often to fertilize
- Role of pH in nutrient absorption
Module 5
Temperature and Humidity
The role of temperature should not be ignored. In fact, it's very important, but in general, if you are comfortable, your Phalaenopsis orchids will be too.
If you have had your orchid let's say for at least a year, and it still hasn't bloomed again, despite the plant being in good light and appearing healthy, this module introduces a little temperature tip that will trigger your plant to grow a new flower spike, almost like magic!
You will also learn about humidity, but it shouldn't be something to stress over too much.
Module Highlights:
- Role of temperature in initiating flower spikes
- Good temperature growing range for Phalaenopsis
- Why humidity doesn't matter as much as you'd think
Module 6
Repotting
Repotting orchids is often an afterthought. It is intimidating for many people, but it shouldn't be. Once you learn the best time to repot and learn about the appropriate growing medium for your environment, it is a cinch. The type of medium you use also impacts your watering routine.
Failure to repot into fresh growing medium periodically will be detrimental to your orchid's health. You will learn why repotting at the right time will give your orchids a boost in growth, and results in thriving plants that grow and bloom more freely.
Module Highlights:
- Video demonstration of exactly how to repot
- A discussion of various growing mediums and pot types
- Why repotting Phalaenopsis often is beneficial
